Sex And The City Soundtrack - Various Artists
Sex and the City: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, released on May 28th, was created by in-demand music producer Salaam Remi (Nas, Amy Winehouse, the Fugees), whose challenge, says the film's writer and director Michael Patrick King, was "to create a soundtrack for the ultimate movie about love." |

Home Before Dark- Neil Diamond
Remarkably Home Before Dark is the first US chart topping album of Neil Diamond's forty year career. It appears to repeat the formula behind 2006's acclaimed 12 Songs--relatively understated arrangements and a subtle Rick Rubin production. But Diamond, though sixty-seven years old and the oldest recipient of a Number One so far, is no Johnny Cash, turning his unique voice to some well chosen contemporary material. |

Corinne Bailey Rae
Corinne Bailey Rae captured us all with a thick, smooth and alluring voice that is both unique and timeless. This album definately goes back to the heart of R&B as it used to be, back before it became vulgar. What you hear in her singing is fresh and vibrant.

The Baroness - Sarah Slean
Sarah Slean’s recipe for her musical concoctions is unwaveringly consistent: take a handful of Cabaret-affected melodies, add a sprinkle of musical theatre, then steep that all together in a stockpot of fragile but powerful emotions.

Detours - Sheryl Crow
Thematically, Detours may not seem like much of a detour to Sheryl Crow fans. Her politics pour out of these songs the way you might expect them to if you caught wind of her epic cross-country bus trip, with the activist Laurie David, to promote environmental awareness months prior to this release.

Good Girl Gone Bad - Rihanna
In one of the biggest jumps ever recorded in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Rihanna's newest single "Take A Bow" rockets from #53 to #1 this week.
"Take A Bow" also debuts at #1-bullet on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs Chart with a phenomenal first week of 266,696 scans. The song was written by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate, the same team responsible for Rihanna's "Unfaithful" (of 2006), and "Hate That I Love You," her Top 10 duet with Ne-Yo released late last year.
